Kids in a sweet shop!
That was the phrase I heard last night as 13 club members were given a guided tour of the new Elmy Cycle shop in Ipswich www.elmycycles.co.uk Steve Grimwood our host for the evening lead us through the ground floor of commuter, BMX and mountain bikes to the ‘Performance Area’ upstairs! The place was awash with Carbon fibre and the latest in technology and clothing, so many things you suddenly realized you wanted or in fact needed. The upstairs floor also housed the treatment room, bike fitting and the try before you buy area. The real purpose of the evening was a basic mechanics course that Mark from the club had arranged with Steve (ex WSW Bury Boy). He started the evening by showing us how to change a tyre and some useful hints and tips that even Geoff a man 50 years in the saddle had not even seen before! He then moved onto gears, headsets and all things in between carefully explaining the do’s and don’ts when maintaining your pride and joy. The evening finished with Steve opening the cash register and club members parting with cash!
