WSW-Tri Win St Edmundsbury Sports Award - Club of the Year
The St Edmundsbury Sports Awards were announced this evening at a big presentation at the Corn Exchange. In all there were 10 categories, but the one we were nominated for was Club of the Year. There were some very good nominations including Bury Town Football Club and the very successful Bury Bombers Wheelchair Basketball Club. However, with details of all our club activities included in the nomination, the inclusion of Triathlon as a new branch, the massive rise in membership and the news of our own clubroom after 80+ years with no fixed abode, we were judged the BEST, and collected the award, an engraved silver platter and a cheque for £50.
This award is the result of the hard work of all the organisers and volunteers within the club and the progress we have made. Well done everybody.
We now go forward to the Suffolk Sports Awards, where we have been nominated in the same category. These will be announced on October 17th.
