GoRide Going for Gold
Following the spectacular success of the Great Britain Cycling Team in the Athens Olympics, Youth Cycling events are being held at various venues all over the country on the weekend of September 4 & 5.
It is events such as these that have led to the development of riders like Triple Medal Winner Bradley Wiggins, and West Suffolk's own Ross Edgar, who rode for GB in Athens and gained a magnificent fifth place in the Sprint Competition.
West Suffolk Wheelers are running one of these regionalevents entitled Go Ride for Gold on September 4th at 2pm at Denny Bros Ltd, Kempson Way, Bury St Edmunds.Activities will include British Cycling's Go Ride Skills Tests and competitive training events for youngsters from 8 - 16 years.
Regular participants and newcomers are equally welcome and we even have bikes and helmets for loan for those without.
There will be 'goodie bags' containing t-shirts, drink bottles and posters for the first thirty riders to register and registration opens at 1.30 pm. New riders need to be accompanied by a parent to sign parental consent forms.
Further details from Barry Denny on 01284 386409.
