MTB
We are planning to run two off-road club rides on 11th December. The will be the Regular ride and a ‘lite’ version.
The regular club run starts at 9.00 and runs through to around 12.00 with an optional stop for coffee and cake at one of the cafés afterwards. The terrain will be mainly off-piste and will be technically challenging in places. The pace will be reasonable.
There will also be a ‘lite’ version of the off-road club run starting at 11.00 to 12.30 where the pace will be gentler with a focus of developing bike handling skills and also an introduction into mountain biking. We may use the Red route. There will also be an optional stop coffee and cake afterwards.
Both club runs will start at the car park at Brandon Country Park.
There are options for parking charges, which are a season ticket for £25 for 12 months or £15 for 6 months or hourly charges which are £1.30 for 2 hrs and £2.50 for over 2hrs Weekends only.
Most of the guidance that applies to club road rides is also applicable to the off-road versions. A few important points to note:
- Safety. Your safety is your own responsibility. Wear appropriate protection and make sure your bike is suitable, mechanically sound and set-up appropriately (correct tyres etc) for the demands of off-road riding. Ride within the limits of your bike handling skills.
- Ride sensibly and with consideration to your club mates and all other road/track/bridleway users that we may encounter. Follow the appropriate rules (i.e. Thetford Forest, Highway Code etc).
- Carry necessary tools for emergency repairs, bring drink and wear clothing appropriate to the conditions.
- Have fun!
